Hello Parents,

Our class had a wonderful first week! The district's "Phase-In" plan allowed us to take our time with the safety protocols and procedures. It allowed me to have more meaningful conversations with each student to get to know each one better. This next week we will continue to practice safety protocols and procedures as well as classroom routines and procedures. Below I have more information about things you and your child should know. Please make sure you scroll all the way through the blog and click on the hyperlinks, especially the READ MORE link. There is a great deal of new information. Important Things to Know:

Schedule for week 2:

9/14: Last Names A-K: 1/2 Day

9/15: Last Names L-Z: 1/2 Day

9/16: Last Names A-K: Full Day

9/17: Last Names L-Z:  Full Day

9/18: Remote Class Morning Meeting 11:00-11:23: Students will connect through Google Classroom and click on the Google Meet Link on Home Page a couple of minutes before 11:00: Class Meet Link(click on the hyperlink). Here's a video on how to log in from home!

  • Please fill out the  Getting To Know You Google Form if you did not already.
  • Any birthday treats must be pre-packaged. No homemade goods allowed please.
  • Emergency forms should be turned in as soon as possible, even if there are no changes.
  • Summer Challenge packets can be turned into the office or given to the classroom teacher.
  • Each child should bring a towel to use for lunch. This will help the kids distance themselves without masks on.
  • Please send a water bottle each day. Water fountains are turned off but bottle fillers will always be on.

  Welcome back! I hope you all had a nice and relaxing break with your families. The snow sure was amazing on Christmas and fun to play in throughout the week. We will be jumping right in where we left off! We are working on comparing and contrasting in reading groups, finishing up unit 3 on fractions in math, learning about political scientists or government in social studies, and learning how our bodies make us human machines in science. Please remember that every Monday the Positivity Project shirts should be worn and also remember snow gear(with a change of shoes) for recess. Kids will go outside twice a day, so they need to have appropriate clothing! Please let me know if you are in need of any snow pants, boots, hats, or gloves. Thanks and have a great week!! March 1-March 5

     I can't believe that we will already be starting the 3rd trimester in a week. The kids have been working hard to correct any weak areas before their report cards go home the week of March 8th. Please check out your child's IXL Diagnostic levels. They should start in the 400s. If the scores are lower, extra time is needed to fill the gaps in math before 5th grade. Also, Lexia scores for 4th grade are 16-18. At this point, they should be close to or on level 18. If your child is below, extra time would be so helpful. If kids need to replace the 20 minutes of reading at home with IXL or Lexia, I am ok with that. Another idea may be to work on the IXL or Lexia in the morning, especially on Wednesday late starts.        With the weather starting to warm up, kids may need to bring different clothing for recess. The morning recess tends to be colder and the ice was slippery this week. By the afternoon, they want to take their coats off and run around in t-shirts! I have asked the
